Dave Martin Facts / Accomplishments
- Attended St. Mary's Elementary School in Gloucester
- Attended and played High School Ball at Gloucester Catholic High School
- Played American Legion Baseball in Brooklawn
- Attended and Played College ball at Southern Illinois State, where he pitched in the College World Series in 1968, winning and saving games. Southern Illinois State finished 2nd to USC.
- Played Minor League Ball in the Mets Organization
- Assistant Coach at East for 2 years
- Head Coach at East for 32 years
- Head Coach in more than 800 games at East
- Martin's Cougar teams were league champions eight times and played in more Diamond Classic games 40, than any other school in South Jersey .
- Martin lead the Cougars as Diamond Classic Champions in in '86 and '92 and S.J. Group IV champs in 1988 .
- Martin's 1992 team was ranked 5th in the nation, went undefeated at home, winning all 13 games and went 17 consecutive games without a loss (an East record)
- Over 32 year career as head coach, every player who played for coach Martin went on to attend College
- Married to Rose, Father to David and Maggie
